Abstract

The project aims to the development and integration within the production systems of innovative technologies and devices for the factory 4.0. In particular, the project develops innovative, reliable and cost-effective materials and sensors with respect to the solutions available on the market, to be implemented along the production line for real time product quality monitoring. The project also intends to evaluate the impact of the new production methods on traditional manufacturing in terms of both the company’s internal organization and product quality. These big changes could, on the one hand, increase the competitiveness of companies increasing new technologies exploitation; on the other hand, if not properly managed, they risk undermining the sources of existing companies competitive advantage.
