Magnetic nanostructures for information storage, spintronics and nanomedicine

MIST E-R deals with research and development of nano-structured magnetic materials, in particular the characterization of the functional properties of nano structures and nano particles.

  • Optimization of magnetic properties in epitaxial thin films through nano composition and morphology control: optimization of magnetic and transport properties in hetero epitaxial structures through the control of interfaces. New concept materials for high density magnetic recording (around 10 Tbit / inch2), new hetero spintronic structures.
  • Nano magnetic particles for hyperthermia and the transport of drugs and measures for the accurate determination of specific power absorption in magnetic ferrofluids for hyperthermic applications.
