Sustainable mobility, city of the future and circular economy: the kick-off of 3 new research project

Thanks to the funds of the Regional Program of the European Regional Development Fund, the Emilia-Romagna Region, with the Call for strategic industrial research project targeted to the priority areas of the Strategy of Smart Specialization PR-FESR 2023-2024, co-funds R&D projects presented by research labs, universities, research organizations and bodies accredited to the High Technology Network of the Region.

MISTER is involved as partner in the projects FACT, DeLIVER and So Fan So Fer, each one dedicated to promote innovation and sustainable development in crucial areas for the region. These projects pertain, specifically, to the S3 Regional Specialization Areas named “Sustainable and innovative mobility and motoring”, “Cities and communities of the future” and “Circular Economy”.

FACT: Future of the Agricultural Tractors

The project FACT aims to revolutionize the agricultural vehicle sector through the development of a virtual and experimental lab. The main goal is to study efficient,  sustainable and safe solutions for the agricultural vehicles of different use and size. Thanks to advanced templates and experimental validation, FACT will allow to explore a wide range of designs and innovative solutions to reduce energy dissipations, improve the operator’s comfort and accelerate the transition towards sustainability in agricultural sector

DeLIVER: Decisions on Logistics’ Impact Value in Emilia-Romagna

DeLIVER focuses on logistics, a crucial sector for regional economy. The project aims do develop an innovative device to quantify the environmental and social impact of great logistic hub on the territory. Using Big Data, traffic microsimulations and Nature Based Solutions, DeLIVER will provide decisional support to promote more sustainable logistic practices. Through the area digitalization and the collaboration with the stakeholders, the project aims to reduce the negative impact of logistics on the environment and on the local community.

So Fan So Fer: development of an innovative system of purified biological sludge for high quality fertilizer production

The So Fan So Fer project proposes an innovative approach for the sustainable management of sewage sludge and organic waste. By integrating patented microwave technologies with bacteria and compressed air system, the goal is to produce high-quality fertilizer by reducing toxic organic components and improving fertilizer qualities. The study also aims to assess the environmental impact of the process and define a logistic-production-plant structure for large-scale deployment of the proposed technology.

In conclusion, the launch of these three projects reflects the Emilia-Romagna Region’s commitment to promoting innovation and sustainable development through scientific research. FACT, DeLIVER and So Fan So Fer will not only help improve key industries in the region, but also generate significant economic, social and environmental benefits for local communities and beyond.
